Hebrew QWERTY

Zip file of installation modules

As is true for the native keyboard layout for the RussianQwerty, the native keyboard layout for the Hebrew (Israel) locale has no correlation to the keytops displayed on a Western, QWERTY-style keyboard.

So, to enable easier input of Hebrew letters into text being formatted with the correct, right-to-left orientation, and setup as being within the Hebrew locale, I created a layout in which the sound of the QWERTY keytop comes close, so far as possible, to that of the Hebrew letter assigned to that key.

In the few cases where there is no match or in which non-matchable Hebrew letters needed a key, that letter was assigned to one of the unused Roman keys.

The QWERTY vowel keys are assigned to points, while consonants are assigned as best as can be, given the basic differences between the two writing systems.
